Where is Sliabh Fuait?

Sliabh Fuait is a crescent-shaped mountain range in southeast Ulster. The majority of Sliabh Fuait in Co. Armagh with a small part in Co. Monaghan. It stretches from Lisnadill in the north to Mullyash in the south and from Ballymoyer in the east to Derrynoose in the west.

It is believed that Dorsey was the gateway into Ulster and that is why it was given the name ‘Na Doirse’ meaning ‘The Doors’.

Carrickatuke is the highest hill in Sliabh Fuait (365 metres). Mullyash Mountain is 317 metres high. On a nice bright day, you can see Lough Neagh, the Sperrins (Co. Derry), Slemish (Co. Antrim) and as far as Co. Meath.

The Callan River flows through Sliabh Fuait from Tullynawood Lough.
